Each region's current monthly minimum for yayas, housekeepers, cooks and other kasambahay, taken from the official wage orders, with the date each took effect.

Which provinces fall under which rate?

The rate follows the region where the kasambahay works, not where they come from. Some common searches:

  • Metro Manila (NCR): ₱7,800. See also our Metro Manila hiring guide.
  • Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon (Calabarzon): ₱7,500 from 26 October 2026.
  • Cebu and Bohol (Central Visayas): ₱7,500 from 14 October 2026. See our Cebu guide.
  • Bulacan, Pampanga and the rest of Central Luzon: ₱6,500.
  • Bicol Region: ₱6,000.
  • Davao City and the Davao Region: ₱6,500. See our Davao guide.
  • Iloilo (Western Visayas): ₱6,500.
  • Cagayan de Oro (Northern Mindanao): ₱6,500.
  • Negros Occidental (including Bacolod) and Negros Oriental: part of the Negros Island Region. NWPC's list has no kasambahay wage order for it yet, so check with DOLE or the regional wage board.

Is there a separate "province" rate? Only in two regions. In Eastern Visayas and Zamboanga Peninsula, chartered cities and first-class municipalities have a higher minimum than other municipalities. Everywhere else in the table, one rate covers the whole region.

Who the minimum wage covers

The kasambahay wage orders cover domestic workers on live-in or live-out arrangements, such as general househelp, yayas, cooks, gardeners, laundry persons, and anyone who regularly does domestic work in one household. They do not cover service providers, family drivers, or people who work only occasionally (Section 2 of wage orders RBVIII-DW-06 and RIX-DW-06).

Caregivers have their own law: see our caregiver salary guide. For drivers, see how to hire a family driver.

The 2013 figures are outdated

RA 10361 (Section 24) set the first minimums in 2013: ₱2,500 a month in NCR, ₱2,000 in chartered cities and first-class municipalities, and ₱1,500 in other municipalities. The same section tells the regional wage boards to review and adjust them, which is why today's figures are much higher. Don't use the 2013 numbers.

The minimum is a floor

The minimum wage is the least you can legally pay. For typical pay ranges by city, see how much to pay a yaya in 2026.

Pay rules that come with the minimum wage

  • Pay on time, directly to the kasambahay, in cash, at least once a month (RA 10361, Section 25).
  • No deductions except those required by law or agreed in writing by the kasambahay (Section 25).
  • Give a pay slip every pay day and keep copies for three years (Section 26).
  • 13th-month pay, rest days, leave and SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG come on top: see our benefits guide.
